Titulaire d'un Bac technique-musique F11 en 1978, après un an en faculté de musicologie à Paris-Sorbonne,il se forme durant dix ans sous la direction des facteurs :

-Gérald Guillemin (obtention du Brevet de compagnon-Facteur-d'Orgues de la Chambre des métiers d'Alsace en 1984)

-Jean-Francois Muno

-Georg Westenfelder

Il s'installe en Seine et Marne en 1989. D'autres personnalités l'ont aussi guidé dans son apprentissage du métier: les facteurs:

et l'organiste A. Isoir dont il a été l'élève.Membre du bureau du GPFO durant 7 ans, il assure la présidence du Groupement de 99 à 2001 et organise son rattachement au sein de L'UNIFA.

Yves Fossaert set up in business in Seine et Marne in 1989. He has been a member of the committee of the G.P.F.O. for seven years, and was President from 1999 – 2001, organising its incorporation into UNIFA.
